During this time teachers worked in teams by grade
level to plan how they will use image processing in a lesson or
lessons during the first semester. Some
possibilities include:
- Students will use image
processing to measure angles as part of
a geometry unit. Since our school is under renovation, taking
construction pictures with the digital camera would provide
interesting angles to measure.
- Use digital images as "Mystery Images" as part
of morning warm ups.
- As part of a beginning unit on Geography and
Mapping, students will use image
processing to plan a cross-country tour with a rock
band. Students will also build a
tour-mobile to scale and use many image processing skills to plan
the vehicle.
- Students will apply filters and color tables
to alter their own digital portraits.
- Students will explore the relationship of the
LUT and surface plots as they create 3-D
models of their names.
- Students will learn about volcanoes as they
complete several image processing lessons from the Earth Science
section.
- Students will examine digital images and learn
about how color images are created. They will use
