Camp IPX Daily Log
Day 1
- "I think Camp IPX is one of the best camps I've ever been to. Everything was fun, especially drawing weird things on the Mona Lisa. Since we only had 4 people we all had our own computer and got to print whatever we wanted."
- "Today was the first day and I enjoyed all the things that we did."
- "Today was the first day of a computer camp that is sure to have good reviews. I never knew you could do so many increduble things on a computer. It certainly is the information age! The NIH [software] program is great!"
Day 2
- "Today I got turned into a ten-inch tall human next to a waist-high danish and the glass was as tall as my dad! This software is great!"
- "I designed a Night Club. When I did a surface plot, I got a whole new building!"
- "When I scanned the picture of Michael Jordan, and combined it with the picture Mrs. Goodwin took of me standing sideways, my head was on Michael's body!"
- "Designing the house was my favorite part today."
Day 3
- "Today I got to be an archeologist, detective, and Romeo and a Start Wars Freak! This is really great!"
- "Most of all today I enjoyed working on the fingerprints and the Dig 1, 2, and 3 puzzles."
- "I got to be on Mars with the Rover! It was cool!"
Day 4
- "Today we learned about animations. First we looked at the samples, then we made our own. It was so much fun that I didn't even know time was going by."
- "Today was one of the best days of camp so far! We did animation. I made up an activity - making a castle or a town. This class is really great! I'm telling all my friends about camp and NIH and they think it's really cool!"
Day 5
- "Today we learned about density slicing. At first I couldn't understand it, but then it got more interesting and I got it! I also learned to measure distances and area. I could see where there was rain."
- "Today a man named Mr. Sanford, who knew numerous things about weather and the Internet, was our guest speaker. He was funny. We went on the net and studied about weather. This was another fun day."
- " Today I made another movie. I learned to density slice and to measure areas of rain. Thanks to our guest speaker."
Day 6
- "Today I arranged for a tour for The Danger Band. It was fun. I have never done anything like that before. I also worked on improving the activity I designed."
- "Today I was a band manager and traveled across America. First I planned the cites that I wanted to visit and then made three different maps. I chose the tour with the least mileage."
Day 7
- "Today we looked at animal x-rays, and then we matched the animals with the right x-ray. It was hard. Some of the animals were new. We found pictures on the Internet."
- "Today I joined Camp IPX. THey are working on cool things. I animated a kangaroo hopping."
Day 8
- "I practiced scanning images and I think I've got it!"
- "It was cool putting the head of a fruit fly on the Mona Lisa."
- "We customized a car by adding more leg room and head room."
- "I turned the car stack into a movie and made the car crash!"
Day 9
- "This first thing we did today was make an animal puzzle. I tried using the panda picture. It was hard at first, but when I tried many times it got pretty simple. "
- "When I saw that moon with the 3-D glasses it was really cool!"
- "Today was another good day. Tomorrow will be our Open House. I can't believe two weeks is up."
Day 10
- "Today was the last day of Camp IPX. We had our Open House to show the things that we did. I really enjoyed the camp."
