FCPS Lesson 1 - What's in a Weather Forecast?

Before viewing any data using MacMet software, you must follow the procedures for acquiring data.

1. Look at the Weather Information Display Screens in MacMet Software:

• For Real time Weather Display:
  • Under Station Manager, click and drag to Stations and then Real time and then Select either Broadcast, Master Screen, Mini Screen, and Table.
• For Historical Weather Display:
  • Under Display click and drag to Master Screen, Mini Screen, Table.

2. Discuss which instruments are used to collect the data.

FCPS Lessons 2-7, 9, 10, and 12

The MacMet Online Lessons can be accessed by clicking on Lessons in the menu bar and dragging to the desired topic.

• For each lesson topic a text explanation is given, which can be printed. When you click the Hide Text button, you now see the related data for a selected station. You can also view all the data for your group by clicking on the Prev St button (previous station) or the Next St button (next station).
• It is also useful to note that in the Wind Chill Lesson there is a Chart button which gives you a nice Wind Chill Index.
