1. While browsing the World Wide Web, if you come across a graphic or image that you want to use, click and hold down the mouse with the cursor right on the graphic. A pop-up box will appear with several choices. Drag to "Copy this Image". (The image is now on your computer's clipboard.)
2. Open a new ClarisWorks document or an existing document in which you need the graphic. Under View, click and drag to Show Tools. Select the arrow tool. To add your graphic to the document, under Edit, click and drag to Paste. Your graphic will appear. Since it has handles on it you can move it where you want or resize it.
3. It is important to cite your sources when using materials from the World Wide Web and this is easy to do. After you have copied and pasted the graphic into your document, go back to Netscape and click on the graphic again and drag down to "Copy this Image Location". Then go back to your document and click on Edit, and drag to Paste.
1. While browsing the World Wide Web, if you come across graphics or images that you want to use in a future document, click and hold down the mouse with the cursor right on the graphic. A pop-up box will appear with several choices. Drag to "Save this Image as..." The image will now be saved where you specify (It is a good idea to save them all in a separate folder). The image will usually be saved as a gif (pronounced like the peanut butter) or else a jpeg..
2. Gif's cannot be put directly into a ClarisWorks document. There is a very cool shareware software program for Macs called Graphic Converter. Click here to go to a site where you can download Graphic Converter. There is also a tutorial at that site.
3. Open Graphic Converter. Under File, click and drag to Open. Navigate to the gif you saved.
4. Then Click on Edit and drag to Save as... At the next screen select PICT. Once your graphic is a PICT it can be used in ClarisWorks.
Remember to cite your sources!
