Students read and discussed Life in the Desert by Melvin Berger and Deserts by Gail Gibbons before coming to the tech lab. In the lab, we discussed what they know about desert plants and animals. We read the poem, The Saguaro Cactus, together. Students practiced word processing by typing 2 stanzas of the poem. Next they showed their knowledge of desert plants and animals by illustrating the poem.
